Another record quarter for Lear

Automotive seating developer Lear Corporation has reported sales of just under $5.6 billion in the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 9% compared to the same period of last year.

Revenue from the company’s Seating division was 6.2% higher year on year at just under $4.3 billion, while its E-Systems segment saw an 18.9% increase in sales to $1.3 billion. 

"In the second quarter, we again delivered record sales and earnings while continuing to invest in product and process capabilities and launching a number of key programmes," said Ray Scott, Lear's president and chief executive officer. "With industry-leading capabilities in Seating and E-Systems that are aligned with industry trends and the convergence of our two segments, we are well-positioned for future growth.”

For the first six months of 2018, Lear’s revenue is up 11.8% to $11.3 billion. Within this figure, sales from the Seating segment increased 9% to $8.6 billion.
