Japanese automotive brands to benefit from end to 10% EU tariff

17/07/2018
The new free trade agreement between Japan and the EU, signed on July 17, is particularly good news for Japanese automotive manufacturers.

Cars from brands such as Toyota, Nissan and Honda have long enjoyed a share of the European Union car market, but cars they export to Europe at the moment are subjected to a 10% tariff.

When the new free trade agreement comes into full effect, this 10% tariff will be lifted, making Japanese cars more competitive in EU countries.
