COTANCE urges leather-sector firms to apply for €10k SME initiative
08/05/2018
This Italian-based initiative, which ran for the first time between 2013 and 2015, aims to create and support “transnational collaboration” between fashion designers, creative people, small- or medium-scale manufacturing enterprises and technology firms that are working to develop design-driven and innovative products.
Now running for a second time, interested parties have until October 24 to apply to become a Worth candidate. Selected companies will receive funding of €10,000 for a specific design project, coaching, advice, product marketing, participation at international events, as well as networking and cross-sector collaboration opportunities.
Applicants should be small companies operating in an “eligible Worth industry sector”; leather and footwear are among the eligible sectors.
Atlantic Leather won in the previous edition of Worth for its work with two partners, UK-based Elisa Palomino, and Italian leathergoods brand Campomaggi.
At least two eligible countries have to be represented in the successful projects, but Worth has explained that, while it’s possible to make a joint application with an existing partner, companies can also register their interest at this link and be matched up to partners by Worth.
Atlantic Leather was the winner for Europe at the Tannery of the Year Awards in 2016.
