Australian cattle producers offered business skills development course

Meat industry bodies Cattle Council of Australia and Meat and Livestock Australia are working in partnership to send seven grass-fed beef producers, one from each state and territory, on a five-day course early next year to develop their skills in business management and corporate governance.

The course, run by the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has been designed to focus on areas of business management and skills development that are specific to cattle producers. All grass-fed cattle producers that have a desire to provide leadership in the beef industry are eligible to apply, which they must do before January 31.

Cattle Council of Australia said the selection criteria will guarantee that a diverse range of producers take part to ensure that all aspects of the industry are represented in the programme.
