Solid six months for Burberry

Luxury brand Burberry has posted revenues of more than £1.2 billion for the first half of its 2017-2018 business year, the six months to September 30. This figure represents an increase of 9% compared to the same period in 2016.

Profits on this figure were £127 million, an increase year on year of 24%.

Commenting on the results, chief executive, Marco Gobbetti, said: “I am pleased with our performance. Consumers responded positively to fashion and newness, particularly in rainwear and leathergoods. I look forward to building on our strong foundations as we implement our strategy to drive Burberry forward.”
