Moda Made in Italy offers “boost in uncertain market”

Assocal said 1,600 visitors attended over the course of the three days, which it said was in keeping with the figures for the September 2016 edition. In total, 115 footwear companies travelled from Italy to take part (five fewer than last autumn), representing 230 brands.
The organisation’s vice-president for Europe, Giovanna Ceolini, said these are difficult times for the high-end footwear market in Germany and that she was pleased Moda Made in Italy had been able to give specialist small and medium-sized footwear retailers there a boost.
“This is not a particularly favourable moment for the market,” she said. “There is great pressure on prices, provoking a general climate of caution in the footwear business community.”
