IULTCS names next president

At a meeting in Shanghai on August 30, the organisation chose Dr Luis Zugno as its new vice-president and as the person who will take over as president when Thomas Yu completes his two-year term. Thomas Yu will become IULTCS president at the start of 2018; Luis Zugno will be vice-president over that period and take over as president at the start of 2020.
Already a well known figure in the global leather industry, Dr Zugno is technology director at Memphis-based leather chemicals manufacturer Buckman. He joined Buckman 15 years from Prime Tanning, where he held the position of technical director for four years.
He has been an active member of IULTCS for many years and has served as chairman of the organisation’s research committee and was the chairman of the scientific commission for the XXXIII IULTCS Congress in his native Brazil in November 2015.
