ACLE opens in Shanghai
The twentieth edition of the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) opened in Shanghai on August 30.

Organiser, APLF Limited, said it had attracted 1,081 exhibitors from 39 different countries and regions to the fair, a slight increase on the number of exhibitors who attended ACLE in 2016. Last year’s show in Shanghai registered 23,500 visitors.

In a speech at the opening press conference, APLF director, Michael Duck, said: “At this juncture, our twentieth edition, it is perhaps the right moment to remind ourselves of the reasons why ACLE was launched in 1998. It has developed from an industrial type fair, selling leather, chemicals and equipment in the last years of the twentieth century into a complete integrated event, designed to serve the needs of China’s dynamic leather industry.”

He said the fair has moved with the times and now serves China’s leather sector “by actually being part of it”.
