Luxury group Hermès has reported an increase in revenues of 11% for the first six months of this year. Between January and June 2017, the company achieved revenues of a little over €2.7 billion, compared to €2.4 billion in the first half of last year.

Its leathergoods and saddlery division brought in €1.4 billion during the six-month period,  almost 52% of total group revenues and an increase of 14% compared to the figure for the first half of 2016.

“Leathergoods growth was sustained thanks to the success of the collections and the diversity of models,” Hermès commented on releasing the results. “Development was supported by the sustained pace of production and the increase in capacity at three new sites in France. In June 2017, the group opened two new leathergoods production sites in France, one in Normandy and the other in Saint-Junien near Limoges.
