Zschimmer & Schwarz expands its range ahead of ACLE

The new range is designed for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and fogging on car upholstery leathers. These products are based on raw materials of synthetic, natural and polymeric origin, Zschimmer & Schwarz said. “Recent applications show a tremendous reduction of all VOC and fog parameters, whilst maintaining the desired softness, tightness and grain-break, with outstanding heat and light resistance,” the company said in the build-up to ACLE.
Products in the range include Dolatan F1, a newly developed liquid retanning agent, which the company says offers good heat and light resistance, filling effect and tight grain “at a competitive price”.
Other components are the antioxidant Contripon AO, and an deodorising agent, Contripon DEO. At the same time, Zschimmer & Schwarz said it has “considerably extended” its Novaltan retanning range, based on the results of recent research and development work. Blends of what the company has called “widely unknown vegetable extracts” with syntans and fillers are part of the Novaltan expansion, which the leather chemicals manufacturer has said will help cover “rising demands for tight grain-break on the softest leathers”.
