Adient opens new facility in Macedonia

Automotive seating supplier Adient has invested €20 million to build a new seat cover plant near to the Macedonian city of Strumica, according to local media reports.

The facility is expected to eventually create 1,500 jobs. It will initially see the transfer of 750 workers from a nearby temporary site, which has established while the new plant was completed. The company hopes to add a further 400 jobs by the end of 2017.

It will bring the total number of people that Adient employs in Macedonia to approximately 3,000.
