Pakistan tanners hit by transportation strike
17/05/2017
Anjum Zafar, chairman of the Pakistan Tanners’ Association, called on the government to bring about a resolution to the strike as quickly as possible.
He said more than 300 container-loads of materials are at a standstill, with overseas customers now threatening to cancel letters of credit, putting the country’s leather-sector companies, already struggling because of a 35% decline in business over the last two years, in an even more difficult position.
