Abu Dhabi tannery to open doors to tourists

The Abu Dhabi-based Al Khaznah Tannery will allow visitors to tour its facility as part of an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).

The tour will include the opportunity to observe the leather tanning process. It will also serve to highlight and promote the use of sustainable chrome-free leathers, including camel leather. 

“We are delighted to form this partnership with TCA Abu Dhabi, which stands to further enhance Abu Dhabi’s tourism landscape by creating immersive experiences for our visitors to enjoy,” said Mohammed Ghaneem Al Mansoori, general manager of Al Khaznah Tannery. “It is an honour for us to be able to showcase our production processes to visitors, ultimately creating memorable experiences for them."

“Al Khaznah Tannery will allow visitors to witness the art of producing hand-made sustainable leather goods, the process of which carries great significance within the Emirati heritage,” added Sultan Al Dhaheri, acting executive director of the tourism sector of TCA Abu Dhabi.
