Elda shoemakers are represented at international tourism fair

Representatives from Spain’s national footwear museum in Elda have travelled to Barcelona to present products from the region at the Catalonia International Tourism Show in Barcelona (April 21-23).

Elda is sharing an exhibition space with the nearby shoemaking towns of Agost, Alcoy, Elche and Villena, for what is its first time participating at the show. 

The national footwear museum is exhibiting items of footwear that show the evolution of shoe design in the region, as well photographs of historic footwear that serve as a tourist attraction. Loles Esteve, director of the museum, said participating at the event provides an opportunity to display Elda’s shoemaking pedigree to a wider public.
