Professor Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, who runs the University of Duisburg-Essen’s Centre for Automotive Research, has been instrumental in organising the third Chinese Car Symposium, which will take place in Shanghai on April 20.

In the build-up to the event, Professor Dudenhöffer described China as the largest and fastest growing car market in the world and said events such as the symposium can help companies across the automotive supply chain to plan their investments in China accurately and to “benchmark plans with the top players of the Chinese car industry”.

The global marketing director for automotive at leather chemicals manufacturer Stahl, Stefan Buri, will be one of the speakers, forming part of a high-level line-up that will include the chief executives of Jaguar Land Rover, Dr Ralf Speth, and of Audi, Professor Rupert Stadler, and the founder of Geely Group, Li Shufu.

Stefan Buri will speak as part of a discussion about new mobility solutions and car interiors.
