Michael Kors presses ahead with menswear range

Leathergoods and fashion brand Michael Kors is to open its first European store dedicated to menswear, as part of a strategy to increase its focus on the sector.

In June, the brand announced that it was stepping up its menswear efforts in an attempt to diversify its customer base and address a slowdown in growth.  As part of this strategy it entered into a partnership with the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 racing team, which saw it create a limited-edition men’s leather jacket. 

It will open a dedicated menswear store in London’s Westfield shopping centre on December 15. Although initially focused exclusively on menswear, Michael Kors plans to merge this store with an adjacent womenswear outlet.
