Hidesign targets luxury market

Indian leathergoods brand Hidesign is launching a luxury collection of items, Atelier, made from ostrich and deer leather.

The collection includes handbags, wallets and shoes. The brand sourced the deer leather used in the range from New Zealand.

It is the brand’s second venture into the luxury sector, having previously launched a collection by Italian designer Alberto Ciaschini.

“We felt that the [previous] collection, while beautiful, lacked sufficient connection to the Hidesign lifestyle,” said Hidesign founder Dilip Kapur. “The Atelier collection has been designed by us to ensure there is a deeper understanding at this early and critical stage.”

He added that a key feature of the collection was the high level of craftsmanship. Hidesign selected 12 of its best and most experienced to create the range.
