Artisans are Loewe’s “most important people”

Irish designer Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of luxury leathergoods brand Loewe, has said the company’s leathergoods artisans are the most important people it has.

Speaking in the build-up to the Loewe show at the Paris Fashion Week at the end of September, Mr Anderson said: “When you design bags and make bags with people who are craftsmen, you fundamentally create community, and the community will give back. The most trusted people I have are people who were here when I joined [in October 2013], and they are the most important people because they know the brand inside out.”
