Hugo Boss names new CEO

Fashion brand Hugo Boss has named Mark Langer as its new CEO. Mr Langer will move from his position as the company’s chief financial officer and will replace Claus-Dietrich Lahrs who stepped down in February.

Mr Lahrs left after eight years in the role following disappointing financial results. The German company posted a 29% drop in EBITDA to €93.5m in the first quarter, prompting the group to announce plans to close some unprofitable stores in order to cut costs.

"Due to my long-standing work for Hugo Boss, I have a clear understanding of the company's potential and know what we need to do to get it back on track for profitable and sustainable growth," said Mr Langer, who has been with Hugo Boss for 13 years.

Supervisory Board chairman Michel Perraudin said he was confident that "appointing Mark Langer is absolutely the right decision, especially in the current situation."
