26/04/2016
Workers at a factory making luxury handbags in Drôme in south-eastern France have gone on strike over pay. MMD, the company that runs the facility in the town of Granges lès Beaumont, is an outsource manufacturing partner of luxury leathergoods brand Louis Vuitton.

Union representatives of the workers have asked for an increase in pay of €0.45 per hour but insist that MMD management are offering a rise of only €0.05 per hour.

In comments to local media, workers at the factory have complained of being asked to work longer and longer hours and of increasing demands being made by Louis Vuitton.
