Leather Pipeline: signs of promise for furniture leather
World Leather’s exclusive Leather Pipeline report has said in its latest edition that early feedback from two important furniture exhibitions indicate positive signs of an increase in demand for upholstery leather from the furniture market.

The two events the report names are the Salone del Mobile in Milan and High Point in North Carolina. At the quality end of the market, initial feedback from these events is that demand for high-quality upholstery leather among furniture manufacturers could be picking up.

One of the factors the report highlights is that a new trend called “cocooning” may be of benefit to tanners. Owing to concerns about security in many parts of the world, consumers want to spend more time at home and to make their home environment as luxurious as possible.
