Poultry and prepared foods spark Tyson growth

Packer group Tyson has announced revenues of $40.6 billion in 2015, with 41% of the total coming from beef sales.

However, the group made it clear during a presentation to investors in New York on February 16 that its fastest growing segments are now chicken and prepared foods, with 88% of operating income coming from those two segments.

At the presentation, Tyson chief executive, Donnie Smith, said this was part of the company’s transition from being primarily a protein producer to being a value-added food company.
