Fifth Tannery of the Year programme: China finalists named
World Leather magazine is pleased to announce the finalists for China for the 2015-2016 Tannery of the Year competition.
Tannery of the Year began in 2009 and aims to highlight and make public the best examples in the global leather industry of tanneries that look after the environment well, take good care of their employees, work closely and fairly with local and national authorities, are economically sound, committed to innovation and quality, and who have established strong partnerships with customers and suppliers.
A group of industry experts nominates tanneries in each of five global territories for their performance against the Tannery of the Year corporate social responsibility criteria.
From a total of 10 candidate tanneries for China this time, two have emerged as finalists for the fifth programme. The candidates, in alphabetical order, were:
- Fengan Leather, Fujian Province
- Foshan Nanhai LandScore Leather, Guangdong Province
- Guangzhou Jia Sheng, Guangdong Province
- Kasen Industrial Group, Zhejiang Province
- Quanzhou Jinxing Leather, Fujian Province
- Shavket Leather, Xinjiang Province
- Xinji Haiyang Leather, Hebei Province
- Xinji Meihua, Hebei Province
- Zhejiang Dazhong Leather, Zhejiang Province
- Zhejiang TongTianXing Group, Zhejiang Province
From these, the two finalists that have emerged this time are:
Xinji Meihua and
Zhejiang Dazhong Leather.

Both companies will go forward to take part in the final, which will take place in Hong Kong on March 30, 2016. We congratulate Zhejiang Dazhong Leather and Xinji Meihua on their success so far and wish them good luck as the competition continues.
After China, the fifth Tannery of the Year programme will cover tanneries in Africa and Asia excluding China.
