Timberland delivers strong growth for VF

VF Corporation’s outdoor and sports “coalition”, which includes Timberland, recorded growth in revenues of 13% in the third quarter, contributing substantially to overall revenue growth of 8% overall for the three-month period, reaching almost $3.6 billion.

Outdoor and sports contributed $2.3 billion to the group’s third-quarter total. Timberland’s revenues rose by 21%. For the year so far, outdoor and sports have contributed $5.3 billion of VF’s overall revenues of $8.9 billion.

The group said Timberland’s third-quarter growth in the Americas region was more than 40% thanks to a combination of strong performance and lower third-quarter revenue in 2014. “This growth should normalise to a full-year high-teen percentage rate increase, placing the Timberland brand’s Americas business in line with expectations,” VF said.

Commenting on the third-quarter results, VF’s chief executive, Eric Wiseman, said: “We delivered excellent operating results by staying focused on what we do best – bringing relevant, innovative product to the marketplace, amplifying our relationships with consumers and driving operational excellence into every area of our business.”
