ACLE visitor numbers rise

Organisers have confirmed that visitors to the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai were up 5% on the year before, which it says is due to an increase in pre-fair promotion, but did not cite the numbers.

They said they were “fully aware of the challenging macroeconomic conditions” but suggested there was optimism from a good number of the 1,044 exhibitors at the show.

The dates (August 31 to September 2) had been brought forward to accommodate a public holiday in China, which affected public services and traffic on the final day of the show, with many people leaving early.

Tanneries within the Brazilian pavilion signed $37 million worth of orders and have another $113 million waiting to be confirmed.
