Fifth Tannery of the Year programme launched: European finalists named

A group of industry experts nominates tanneries in each of five global territories for their performance against the Tannery of the Year corporate social responsibility criteria.
From a total of 13 candidate tanneries for Europe this time, two have emerged as finalists for the fifth programme. We can reveal that the two finalist tanneries are, in alphabetical order:
- Atlantic Leather, Saudarkrokur, Iceland, and
- Tärnsjö Garveri, Tärnsjö Sweden.
In-depth reports on the work of both tanneries appear in the June-July 2015 issue of World Leather and both will go forward to take part in the final, which will take place in Hong Kong in March 2016 at the time of the APLF exhibition. We congratulate Tärnsjö Garveri and Atlantic Leather for their success so far and wish them good luck as the competition continues.
After Europe, the attention of Tannery of the Year will turn to the Americas, Asia excluding China, Africa and China.
