Twelve years after the start of production of BMW cars in China, the company’s production site in Shenyang, Liaoning province, has completed the one-millionth BMW vehicle produced in China.

The car, a 3 Series Sedan long version, rolled off the assembly line in north-east China on January 8.

Production director, Harald Krüger, said: “For more than ten years now, our joint venture [with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited and the Shenyang municipal government] has been very successful at producing BMW models in China. The production site in Shenyang is a vital element of our global production network.”
