Senior BMW figure to take up CSR role from next year

High-end automotive manufacturer BMW has announced that the long-serving chairman of its supervisory board, Professor Joachim Milberg, is to step down next year.

The professor joined BMW AG in November 1993 as board member responsible for production. In February 1999, he was appointed to the position of chairman of the board of management of BMW AG. He was elected to the supervisory board in May 2002 and became its chairman in May 2004.

According to the company announcement, Professor Milberg will now take up a leading role connected with the BMW’s worldwide corporate social responsibility activities and charitable foundations.
