The industry in Arzignano is mourning the loss of one of the group of young leather professionals that have taken their skill and expertise from the northern Italian cluster to Asia.

Davide Rondon, a native of the town of Tezze, died in Vietnam on November 4 at the age of only 34. He had been helping to run a tannery in the Asian country for a number of years.

Reports in Italy say Mr Rondon collapsed at work and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. His father and his sister were able to travel to Vietnam in time to see him in hospital but he died a few days later from an acute respiratory complaint.
