Ettinger collection celebrates patron saint of tanners

British leathergoods brand Ettinger has launched a collection named after Saint Crispin, the patron saints of cobblers, tanners and leather workers, whose feast day fell on October 25.

“This is a day where leather workers traditionally celebrate their patron saint with a piece of work demonstrating their absolute finest leather craftsmanship,” said CEO Robert Ettinger.

“To honour this tradition, we have used the smoothest burnishable calf leather available in natural yet sophisticated hues to make a highly elegant set of wallets and purses, which I hope you will agree come out very beautifully indeed. Each item shows understated elegance and distinctive confidence. Over time, every touch and stroke will gently burnish this delicate leather, giving it a unique patina and a rich personality, like no other.”

“The collection demonstrates perfectly how emotions can be conveyed through the finest leather, carefully tanned in such a way as to preserve its natural beauty and character and then expertly crafted into objects of refined elegance.”
