Growth in the first nine months for LVMH

Luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has reported an increase in revenues of 3.9% for the first nine months of 2014 compared to the same period last year. Revenues between January and September this year were €21.4 billion.

Its leathergoods and fashion division contributed almost €7.7 billion to the total, an increase of 7.4%, although the company made it clear that the addition to the group of Italian fashion brand Loro Piana boosted this figure; it said organic growth in leathergoods and fashion was closer to 3%.

LVMH made it clear it was pleased with the performance of its luxury leathergoods brands and said it is confident of a boost in the fourth quarter of the year for Louis Vuitton from its new Monogram collection of accessories, designed by six high-profile guest designers. It also said Fendi and Céline had performed particularly well, developing impressive leathergoods and footwear collections and strengthening their retail networks.
