Leather and hide exports from Brazil still growing in value

07/10/2014
The Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) has said exports of leather, hides and skins from the country in the month of September brought in $256 million in revenues.

This figure represents an increase of 15.4% compared to the figures for September 2013.

September’s figures mean that Brazilian tanners have shipped exports worth more than $2.2 billion in the year to date so far. This, in turn, represents year-on-year growth of 23%.

Brazil’s ministry for development, industry and overseas trade put these statistics together and said the figures were still preliminary.
