Leather industry en route to Shanghai for ACLE
Tanneries, hides and skins suppliers, chemical companies and their clients are making their way to Shanghai in preparation for the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) which starts on Wednesday 3.

The industry is hoping for clarification on leather demand for the next season, to cement prices and secure orders.

“Everyone is hoping for more information when the trade meets in China,” says an author of our Market Intelligence reports.

“Information about the leather business, stocks, prices and opinions will become available. After that, everyone will have to make their minds up and the price trends will be set for the weeks to come.”

There will be 19 national pavilions and more than 1,200 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions at the event. Space in Hall E2, the area devoted to leather chemicals companies, sold out in June.

The industry is also looking forward to the Tannery of the Year awards, taking place at the Jumeirah hotel in Pudong on September 3. Limited tickets are available through our online shop.
