Midpoint report shows further herd decline in the US

31/07/2014
Figures released by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the end of July show the US to have a cattle herd of 95 million head at the midpoint of the year.

Comparisons with the same point in 2013 are not possible because USDA did not issue a half-year report last year.

In comparison to 2012, the new figure shows a decline of 3%.
