USHSLA president joins trade advisory committee

Stephen Sothmann, president of the US Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA), has been appointed to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for trade (ATAC).

ATAC is a private-sector body that provides technical advice on US agricultural trade issues to the secretary of agriculture and US trade department. It is jointly administered by the Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR).

Mr Sothmann took up the role on June 15, 2014 and will serve on the committee for four years. His role will be to provide expertise on trade issues involving animals and animal products.

His appointment gives Mr Sothmann and USHSLA the chance to play a significant role in developing US agricultural trade policy.
