Argentina: police find stolen hides in ex-employees’ homes

29/05/2014
Police in Córdoba, Argentina, appear to have solved a break-in at a tannery in the city. Owners of the Arte Cueros tannery reported the theft of around 400 finished hides from the facility in mid-May.

Local reports say police were tipped off about two former employees who had broken away from Arte Cueros to set up a tannery of their own, but who had found it less easy than expected to fulfil customer requirements. Following a search at two addresses in the city, officers recovered practically all 400 hides, which were, according to police sources, on the point of being transported to Buenos Aires for shipment to Europe.
