Beast to Beauty conference: Saddleback CEO named as keynote speaker
The CEO of leathergoods company Saddleback has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the fifth Beast to Beauty event, ‘Faking it – fraud in the leather supply chain’.
Dave Munson caused a stir with his recent tongue-in-cheek video posted on YouTube, showing counterfeiters how to make one of his leather briefcases, but ultimately highlighting the craftsmanship and quality that goes into the ‘real thing’.
He will deliver the address at the London-based event on June 4, and will be joined by speakers from leading finished goods and supply-chain firms. The conference will provide a forum to share experiences and explain how fakes, fraud and false labelling can impact business.
Sponsors have been announced as The Leathersellers’ Company, leather group Pittards and law firm Marks & Clerk.
The conference, which is being organised by World Leather, consultancy Leather Wise and the University of Northampton, will be followed by a drinks reception where delegates can continue their discussions.
