CTC launches new wastewater analysis service for Chinese tanneries
22/04/2014
The organisation has developed its own Wastewater Index to guage the condition of water from wastewater treatment plants; it has been in use in Europe for 30 years. This index will now become available to CTC customers in China.
CTC described the development as a new service for tanneries located in Asia but also for international brands seeking reassurances on their approach to sourcing leather from tanneries in that part of the world.
At the core of the service will be CTC’s most important laboratory in China, its facility in Dongguan in Guangdong province, which it calls “a unique structure, specialised in the leather industry and supported by experts and consultants dedicated to the leather and textile industries”.
Chief executive, Yves Morin, said on announcing the new service: “As a specialist in leather material and the only key player in social responsibility, CTC’s Waste Water Index is our contribution to a better image of the tannery business.”
