Livestock is good for the land

The organisation for the English beef and sheep industry (EBLEX) has said in a statement that 64% of farmland across the UK is only suitable for growing grass.

This means that grazing livestock is the best way to use a large proportion of all farmland in the UK, giving farmers a chance to produce food from that land and make a living from it.

Another consideration is that cows and sheep eating the grass that grows on this land cause more grass to grow, and as the grass grows it captures carbon emissions, helping to offset the carbon emissions that come from the livestock.
