Sri Lanka prepares for leather fair

A director of Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board (EDB) is keen to boost the country’s leather and footwear industries to increase youth employment opportunities.

Half the country’s footwear needs are domestically, partly due to the proximity to leather from South Asia.

The sixth Sri Lankan Footwear and Leather Fair, organised by the EDB, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Industrial Development Board and the Sri Lanka Footwear and Leather Products Manufacturers’ Association (SLFLPMA), is to be held from February 7 to 9 and will house more than 200 exhibitors.
