Mercedes prepares big push in China

Mercedes-Benz is to launch 20 new or upgraded models of high-end cars in the Chinese market in the next two years and aims to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year there by 2015. In 2012, the total was just over 200,000 cars.

Parent group Daimler has appointed a new chief executive for China, Hubertus Troska, and reports in business media, including the Financial Times and Reuters, say he and his management team are preparing to announce an expansion of manufacturing facilities and of sales outlets in China.
