Government in Bangladesh agrees to fund 80% of new CETP
20/08/2013
The government in Bangladesh has agreed to pay 80% of the cost of a common effluent treatment plant at the proposed new tanning industry hub at Savar and it now looks possible for 155 tanners operating at an older site in Hazaribagh to complete their long-proposed move to the new site by 2016.
“I hope the tanneries will now speed up the relocation process,” industries minister, Dilip Barua, said after announcing the latest government decision.
