Leather chemicals manufacturer BASF has said highlights of its presence at the 2013 All China Leather Exhibition (Shanghai, September 4-6) will include an “automotive corner”.

Products on show will include the latest additions to its leather finishing range, Astacin and Lepton, along with the new Basyntan retanning products and Densodrin water-repellents.

“Innovation for us means more than just delivering new products, but also solutions that create a sustainable future,” said Zane Yu, the new head of BASF’s leather business in east Asia, in the build-up to the event. “Tapping on the network of chemistry expertise available in our innovation campus in Asia, will enable us to develop innovations that meet these demands, especially with today’s increasing stringent legislations.”

BASF recently moved its global research and development for leather to its innovation campus in Shanghai. The company has said the move has given it “an excellent platform to integrate scientific expertise and technologies to offer the best solutions to the market”.
