Department store chain Barneys has reported that increasing sales in both leather accessories and shoes are the main drivers behind its first-quarter growth.

The US company has seen sales rise 40% a year for the past two years. It has opened a revamped leathergoods floor at its flagship New York location, as well as a dedicated shoe floor.
