Toyota and BMW to make sports vehicle together

24/01/2013
At a ceremony in Nagoya, Japan, on January 24, BMW Group and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a series of agreements that the two automotive groups believe will deepen the commitment to work together that they established 12 months ago.

One of four new projects will be a mid-size sports vehicle that they will develop together. They said a feasibility study on the concept would be complete by the end of 2013. “The two companies aim to combine each other’s technology and knowledge at a high level to maximise customer satisfaction,” they said in a statement.

Other projects to come out of the new agreement will be a new fuel-cell system, a new post-lithium battery and lightweight car-body technology.
