A two-day event promoting business links between India and Zambia took place in Lusaka at the start of November.
In advance of the event the Indian Business Council of Zambia said that foreign direct investment from India into the African country has reached $3 billion. The organisation said sound economic policies in Zambia had encouraged investors from India.
Executive secretary Sanjai Chaturvedi said: “Indian investment into Zambia has increased and will continue to rise because more is coming and I am happy to say that a business delegation will be in the country to look for investment opportunities in different sectors.”
He said leather was one of the sectors the business delegation is looking to invest in, along with textiles, agriculture, construction, steel, mining, education and pharmaceutical.
