Australia: sheep skin prices stabilise

T&R Pastoral skins and hides buyer Simon Matters told Farm Weekly: “Some of the prices are still a bit disappointing but at least they are moving and we can get something for them again.”
Prices dropped 60% in April after falling demand from overseas, with the Ugg boot and footwear lining markets said to be affected by the mild winter season.
Industry players said they are expecting to get an indication of future demand at the All China Leather Exhibition, which is currently taking place in Shanghai and has attracted 1,300 companies.
