Bangladeshi leather exporters to work with WRAP

WRAP chief executive, Avedis Seferian, travelled to Bangladesh in April to meet LFMEAB president, Syed Nasim Manzur, to sign the agreement.
The MoU committs the two organisations to a collaborative relationship dedicated to promoting socially responsible manufacturing by leather sector manufacturers in Bangladesh through sound commercial practices and compliance with WRAP principles and training. WRAP will assist the LFMEAB in the promotion of Bangladeshi leathergoods and footwear exports to importing countries around the world.
"The LFMEAB has been very active in seeking out best practices to help promote their members' competitiveness in the export markets. Signing this MoU is another step in keeping with the leadership this organisation has shown," said Mr Seferian.
For his part, Mr Manzur said: “The LFMEAB is committed to improving the competitiveness and sustainability of Bangladesh’s leather and footwear exports. We believe our collaboration with WRAP will enhance our competitive advantage and increase awareness among our members about global best practices. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
