ICT meeting to take place in Hong Kong

26/03/2012
The International Council of Tanners (ICT) is to hold a meeting on March 27 in the administration office boardroom on the ground floor of phase two of the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre. The meeting will run from nine o’clock in morning until one o’clock in the afternoon.

As in recent years, there is no delegate’s fee for attending the council meeting. The first part of the meeting will be closed and will be for discussions on ICT business only, including the election of the organisation’s next president and vice-president, but an open forum will follow. The council said it hoped for a good attendance at the open part of the meeting “as there are important issues to discuss”

In the open part of the meeting, there will be a presentation on raw material trends from Dr Phil Hadley of EBLEX, on organisation that promotes English beef, lamb and mutton. This will be followed by a presentation from Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, vice-president for product development and application at the leather business unit of chemicals manufacturer Lanxess, on environmental issues.

ICT secretary, Paul Pearson, will then deliver a review of the global leather industry, followed by a session on labelling for leather and leathergoods.
