Versace opens children’s store with fairground ride

19/12/2011

Italian luxury goods firm Versace has opened its debut children’s boutique in Milan, Italy, featuring a merry-go-round. The store offers pieces from the Young Versace line, which was first shown at a special international childrenswear exhibit in Florence earlier in 2011.

The new shop is next to the firm’s Versace Home boutique located on Via Borgospesso.

Young Versace is aimed at children from babies up to 12, with the company trying to make the collection fun and fashionable.

“This is a high-end, glamorous and colourful collection in line with the brand’s essence, with a touch of rock’n’roll,” Gian Giacomo Ferraris, chief executive officer of Versace SpA, said when it was announced. “Donatella Versace strongly supports and is behind the project, we have a state-of-the-art technological platform and supply chain, and we directly manage our core business.”
